De la República de Platón al transhumanismo de Bostrom: Divergencias estatistas y liberales en las teorías filosóficas de mejoramiento humano y sus consecuencias axiológicas

Resumen

Los planteamientos de mejora humana a través de medios que trascienden los del humanismo clásico y apuestan por un control del material genético de las generaciones venideras están muy presentes en la historia de la filosofía desde una pluralidad de perspectivas. En este escenario divergente, se observa un conflicto fundamental entre el individualismo 'liberal' y el estatismo. El presente artículo tiene como objeto el análisis de este conflicto, así como sus consecuencias teórico-prácticas, a la luz de una serie de filósofos destacados en estos horizontes politológicos, desde Platón hasta el transhumanismo actual de Bostrom y Sorgner, pasando por el renacentista Campanella.
