From reversal to representation. For a rereading of Karl Marx’s “Kreuznach Manuscript”

This paper tries to understand the specific contribution of Marx in the “Kreuznach Manuscript”. First, the continuities and differences with Feuerbach regarding the philosophy of the reversal of subject and predicate are made explicit. Regarding this influence, other approaches in Marxian critique of Hegel are then studied, such as the critique of the conversion of the empyrean into metaphysics. Finally, the article analyzes how Marx’s conception of the state and monarchical sovereignty as a represented form of popular sovereignty parts ways with the philosophy of both Feuerbach and Hegel.
