Political Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Work: Opportunities and Costs of a Practice

This article explores some current conditions in the practice of political philosophy. Its teaching and research experience leads to appreciate the paths for curricular renewal and for engagement in academic debates that its interdisciplinary character makes possible. Such practice shows both the promise of innovation and the professional costs of working with interdisciplinary approaches and methods. This happens to any discipline and political philosophy is not different in this regard, but its twofold humanities and social sciences profile shows the vulnerable side of that apparent strength.
