This paper propounds a renewal of philosophy of history that takes account of the outcomes of both the «spatial turn» and the turn towards theory of culture. This philosophy of history is intended as a material one because it goes beyond methodology, and as a critical one because it tries to furnish an ethical orientation for life, a reflection on the real possibilities to act.
