Abstract

This note comments and debates on some of the normative reconceptualizing and diverse applications we have developed out of the «Global Justice» paradigm. Pogge’s works, compiled in Hacer Justicia a la Humanidad, provide a comprehensive view of his pragmatic perspective: the eradication of extreme poverty. We first approach Pogge’s negative formulation of economic and social rights. We consider this redefinition erroneous and misguided both from the theoretical and practical viewpoints. Finally, we assess favourably his reflections on Gender Equity in the light of present day debates on measuring poverty and the analysis of inequalities. His elaborations would certainly allow a critically enriching intersection with feminist criticism and mainstream discussions about human development and the impact of globalization on women.
