When the evolution of the behavioral rules of members of a certain population carries with it the emergence of identity groups, certain political considerations may lead to the production of a class of hatred that ends up in terrorism. The grafting of hatred and terrorism into a framework of general equilibrium gives room not only to the indulging into the relationship between Economics and Philosophy which clarifies, among other things, the difficulties faced by any quantification of the economic effects of terrorism, but also to orderly examine some of the palliative measures which have been proposed including the much debated mediation. The independence between terrorism and nationalism is also underlined.
