The liberal equalitarian theories of justice give to the equal concern a central importance. When they consider which good should be primarily allocated, they are confronted with a plurality of objects. The implications and aims of these theories depend on their definition of the nature of the resource they privilege. This will be demonstrated by an analysis of the Rawlsian theory of primary goods, of the equality of resources theory and of the equality of opportunities theory. This analysis shows that it is not possible, as the equality of resources approach thought, to give up the dimension of welfare in the evaluation of individual situations. Equity does not only consist in equalizing the initial resources distribution but also consist in considering the final distribution of individual results -and therefore the distribution of welfare- the agents end up with.
