Facing the ethical, political and religious impasses and dilemmas that the question of "how to live together" propounds today, the hypothesis that the first commandment should be that of a certain confession, a confession of something unconfessable, is put forward here. The meaning of that confession is exposed in relation to diverse existential and historical contexts of the Jewish experience in the century, and especially in relation to the foundation of the State of Israel and the statute of Jerusalem. This explanation shows the shortcomings of the classical dualistic schemes (such as nature, birth, land, etc. vs. culture, technique, law, etc.) And allows us to see the dangers of thinking and living the social relationship with the other in the frame of such notions as "community" or "group".
