What is the sense of the seemingly growing renaissance of communism in the continental philosophy? Should we take it seriously or is it only an attempt to be trendy in the thinking affairs? This brief article points out the old but powerful roots of this new fascination and suggests an ironic comparison of the “new” French philosophers of the 1980 decade and these “old” neocommunist French thinkers of nowadays.
