Abstract

An approach to two contemporary philosophical reflections. Firstly, we deal with the last Michel Foucault’s appreciations to ethics in the context of ‘self-care’ notion. Secondly, we make reference to the ethics of Emmanuel Levinas, focused on the idea of ‘The Other’. The same framework of an ethic of the other allows a connection with some Simone Weil’s ideas. These two philosophies bring a relevant critique of the notion of subject and of an ethic based on the recognition. With all that, they have granted us knowledge enough to be able to think about some possible stances on philosophy nowadays.
