This paper tries to contextualize the concept “innovation” and its theoretical difficulties. Therefore it is difficult to speak about values on innovation. Taking the definition of innovation as something produced by humans the concepts spreads along different fields of study. Also as a referential framework, Echeverría’s axiology of scientific and technical values gives sense for studying ethical values on innovation. From that axiology, different ethical values such as freedom, community and conviviality are examined in the “open” movement. As a conclusion that open movement there is a decisive bet for an innovation based on values.
