What the seismic representations of the COVID-19 pandemic conceal: a critique of dualist ontology from the perspective of critical theory

The purpose of this text is to analyze, from a critical theory approach, the articulation of the hegemonic dualistic ontology in the dominant discourse surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The thesis posits that the seismic images used to represent the pandemic reflect and reinforce the persistent dualistic worldview. This dualism, which creates a dichotomy between nature and humanity, operates in complicity with the perpetuation of exploitative societies. Therefore, it is crucial to interrupt such narratives that impede the necessary emancipatory transformations required to achieve a society free from exploitation.
