A limit to hate speech from the Rawlsonian conception of public reason: a duty of civility for today’s societies

The limits to hate speech have been given more in the legal field, as there are currently legal and jurisprudence limits as a way to avoid these speeches in society; however, it is not common to refer to limits from society itself. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to explore a limit to hate speech, first, from a perspective of political philosophy and, second, from a social dimension, specifically, through public reason and its inherent duty of civility.
